Aeroscena is pleased to announce that Children’s Hospital & Medical Center of Omaha has adopted Ascents® Clinical Aromatherapy as part of their Hand-in-Hand Palliative Care program.  Hand-in-Hand is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary approach to pediatric care that helps support children and their families when faced with life-threatening or life-limiting medical diagnoses.

Dr. Meghann Weaver, M.D., MPH, has been integral in bringing the comfort of Ascents® aromatherapy to Children's patients.  Said Dr. Weaver, "We are grateful for the opportunity to consider ways to help safely address certain symptoms and foster a comfortable environment for a child and family with options other than just medications or drugs. At a time of illness when many children have so few choices, what a privilege to be able to ask the child if he would like to smell ginger and peppermint to help calm his tummy instead of having to just swallow an anti-nausea pill. In fact, one little boy said: 'Oh – that smell reminds me of my Grammy’s hug,' and it occurred to me that we are offering more than just aromatherapy; we are offering meaningful moments."

Press Releases

Dr. Meaghann Weaver of Children’s Hospital & Medical Center (Omaha, Nebraska) recently published the results of her palliative care study utilizing Aeroscena®'s Ascents®-brand clinical aromatherapy inhalers in Cambridge University Press’ journal Palliative and Supportive Care. Researchers found that the three Ascents aromatherapy formulas used in the study represented an effective supportive care intervention for pediatric patients experiencing pain, nausea, and anxiety.

Aeroscena® is pleased to announce their inclusion in the 2019 Global Wellness Trends Report. The featured article, entitled “Mediscent: Fragrance Gets a Makeover,” details the company’s unique contributions to the understanding of the science of scent as it applies to clinical aromatherapy and phytoinhalants. The report is a publication offered by the leadership of the Global Wellness Summit in concert with their by-invitation-only annual meeting, which this year is currently scheduled for October 15-17 in Hong Kong.
